RECORDER MASTERCLASS WITH MATEJA BAJT

This masterclass is intended for pupils, students and teachers of the recorder who would like to hone their skills as ensemble players. The programme will focus on music for recorder ensemble of all levels of difficulty, and a stylistic range from the Middle Ages to the present day. The participants can bring their own repertoire; in this case they should add a list of desired pieces to their application and provide copies of the music. Otherwise, the repertoire will be suggested by the teacher.

 

The masterclass will begin on Saturday, 12 August 2023 at 10.00, and will be concluded with the Final Participants Concert on Tuesday, 15 August 2023 at 17.00. The fee for active participation is 230 €. The fee for passive participation is 15 € a day.

Applications should include your name and surname, address, phone number, e-mail address, date of birth and a list of desired music. The tuition fee of 230 € will be paid at the start of the course.

 

Mateja Bajt studied the recorder with Hans Maria Kneihs at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. In 1994 she graduated as a music teacher and three years later obtained a master’s degree in concert performance, receiving an award from the Austrian Ministry of Science and Research. In 1998 she completed extraordinary studies with an emphasis on chamber music and contemporary works. She collaborates with renowned musicians from Slovenia and abroad, giving concerts throughout Europe as soloist, member and leader of various ensembles. In 2003 she recorded A Portrait of Love, a CD of French baroque music which was received with critical acclaim in Slovenia, Germany and Austria. She regularly gives summer courses and seminars for recorded teachers and pupils. She designed study plans for undergraduate and graduate recorder programmes. Since a number of years she has been teaching at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet. Until recently she also taught at the Ljubljana Academy of Music.
