The Radovljica Festival is known for its emphasis on early music, but since many years has also included rarely performed music from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, often on period instruments. This year’s programme features music from renaissance chansons to songs by Ravel, Fauré, and Reynaldo Hahn, as well Indian classical music. The ongoing series devoted to Johann Sebastian Bach will continue with his suites for unaccompanied cello, performed by Christophe Coin. The Festival Baroque Orchestra, together with a team of renowned soloists, will present Alessandro Stradella’s oratorio recounting the story of the beheading of St John the Baptist. The events include a clavichord recital, while two concerts will be dedicated to the hitherto largely unperformed baroque music from Koper.

Free festival bus from Ljubljana and Kranj is available to all concerts.
